Daniel Asiedu is a Professor of Geology at the Department of Earth Science, University of Ghana, and a Board Member of Petroleum Commission Ghana. He is an internationally recognized researcher in the field of sedimentary geology. He has over 20 years’ university teaching and research experience and has undertaken several extension activities mostly in the areas of geoscience education, research, and consultancy services. He has also worked as a Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Munich in Germany and a JSPS Research Fellow at Okayama University in Japan. Before joining the University of Ghana, he worked with the Ghana Geological Survey Department as a Geologist. Professor Asiedu has taught several courses, largely in the areas of sedimentary geology and geochemistry, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has supervised over 60 postgraduate students’ research projects in the University of Ghana. His current research activities focus on understanding the geology of Ghana and has published over 50 research articles in peer reviewed journals in this area. He is also very interested in promoting geoscience education in high schools. In recognition of his commitment to academic, research and administrative excellence, he has won several meritorious awards at the University of Ghana.
