Richard Addo Darko

Director, Resource Management - Petroleum Commission

Mr. Richard Addo Darko is an industry expert with the Petroleum Commission. He is currently the Director, Resource Management/Operations with over twenty-nine (29) years’ experience in Petroleum Exploration and Management activities. Prior to his current role, he had held several positions at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) where he led several projects during his tenure. Mr. Darko has also been part of high-level Ghanaian working groups such as Mining Sector Support Project-Ghana, Ghana Continental Shelf Delineation Project, Ghana-Cote D’Ivoire Maritime Boundary Negotiations and Petroleum Security Coordinating Committee. He has an enviable track record in negotiating Petroleum Agreements and is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and Ghana Institute of Geoscientists (GhIS). Mr. Richard Addo Darko holds a Master of Science (MSc) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degrees in Exploration Geophysics from the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC)/ TU Delft in the Netherlands, and Algerian Petroleum Institute (I.A.P) in Algeria respectively. He is also the bearer of several internationally recognised certifications.
