Prior to setting up Anojul & Afriyie, Juliette was Consultant, Local Content at the Petroleum Commission, Ghana where she provided legal and policy advice relating to the passage, and implementation of Ghana’s Local Content Law. In that role, she championed a strategic approach to Local Content development and enforcement in the Jubilee, TEN and Sankofa/OCTP projects. She also served as Senior Legal Counsel at the Ministry of Energy, Ghana, where she advised on a broad spectrum of legal issues in the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors and was a member of the Ghanaian–Norwegian team responsible for reviewing and drafting legislation for the Ghanaian upstream oil and gas sector. Juliette has also worked in a number of senior positions in the public sector in the UK, where she advised on regulation, competition policy, and conducted antitrust investigations in the UK, and European Union.
Juliette holds a Doctorate in Law (PhD – regulation, competition law, and economics) from King’s College, London, Master’s in Law (LLM) from University College, London, an LLB from University of Ghana, Legon, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Competition, Regulation, and Economics from University of Nottingham Trent, UK. She is also a graduate of PETRAD’s (Norway) Petroleum Policy and Resource Management training and holds a Certificate of Proficiency with distinction in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the SDG Academy of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).
