Thomas Kofi Manu is an Oil and Gas professional with over three decades of experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. Mr. Manu’s experience spans Data Acquisition and Interpretation, Prospect Generation, Appraisal and Early Development, negotiations of Petroleum Agreements as well as Monitoring and Evaluation of company performance and regulatory compliance. Mr. Manu joined Ghana’s National Oil Company in 1990 and rose through the ranks to become its’ Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2016. Whilst at GNPC, he played a leading role in the discovery, development and production of the Jubilee, TEN, Sankofa/ Gye nyame and Pecan fields. In 2017, he was seconded to the Ministry of Energy as a special advisor to the Minister for Energy. Mr. Manu retired from the public service in 2019 and is currently the Senior Vice President in charge of Exploration and Development at the Springfield Group. Mr. Manu is passionate about promoting Ghana’s hydrocarbon potential. He has led strategic planning teams on numerous occasions to develop plans and strategies for the Energy sector in Ghana; notable amongst them is the GNPC strategy for attracting independents into the petroleum industry and the drafting of a blueprint for Ghana’s petroleum industry.

Mr. Manu has served on several boards of high-performing companies in the Oil and Gas industry.  He was a founding board member of Ghana National Gas Company Limited. He is currently a director on the board of Goil Plc.  Mr. Manu is also passionate about academia and believes in giving back through education and mentorship. He is a member of the management committee of the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Ghana. In addition, he is also the Chairman of the steering committee of the GNPC research chair at the Earth Science Department of the University of Ghana. He also spent six (6) years serving on the school management committee of the University of Ghana Business School.

 

Mr. Manu holds a master’s degree in Exploration Geophysics and an Executive MBA in Finance.
